Having celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2022, at this occasion the Saitama University Wind Orchestra (SUWO) presents a mini concert. With a total of 80 members ranging from first year university students to graduate students, the orchestra presents a uniquely colorful program that is appropriate for university students, this time revolving mainly around pop songs.

Pieces performed this time include titles that have been previously performed at the Omiya Civic Hall. Years later, the orchestra returns to the venue to the venue for an extensive program of SUWO music showcased in a rehearsal and subsequent concert.

Profile

The SUWO was established in 1962, and its members practice daily following the motto “unforgettable music.” In addition to annual summers concert in July, and regular concerts in December, the orchestra’s broad-ranged activities also include local concerts on request, and instrumental music instruction at elementary and junior high schools.
