メイン会場（旧市民会館おおみや）は、開催期間中、日々変化し続ける。大ホールでは音楽ライブ、パフォーミング・アーツの公演、映画上映など多様な演目を開催。公演のない日にもそれらの準備やリハーサル風景を公開する。さまざまな展示やイベントが市内各所で展開され、芸術祭期間中、さいたまの街に膨大な“営みの集合体”が発生する。
